Maduración gonádica mediante inmersión hormonal y fertilización in vitro de Puntius conchonius

Uno de los retos en la producción de peces ornamentales pequeños es la inducción de la maduración gonadal mediante hormonas, debido a las limitaciones que impone su pequeño tamaño. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este estudio fue desarrollar un protocolo para inducir la maduración gonadal en P. conchonius mediante inmersión hormonal. Se utilizaron un total de 21 hembras y 15 machos por tratamiento. En cada tratamiento, los peces fueron sometidos a un choque osmótico a 15 ‰ durante 2 o 7 minutos y, tras dicho choque, se sumergieron en 14, 28 o 40 µg L-1 de sGnRHa utilizando Ovaprim® en agua dulce a 25 °C. Dos grupos de control fueron sometidos a choques osmóticos durante 2 o 7 minutos, bajo las mismas condiciones que el grupo experimental, pero sin la hormona. Todos los tratamientos tuvieron un período de latencia de 12 horas. Se produjeron gametos únicamente en el tratamiento con choque osmótico de 7 minutos a 40 µg L-1 de sGnRHa, con una efectividad del 99 % en las hembras; en los machos, el 11.2 % liberó esperma tras la presión abdominal. Se obtuvieron y se fertilizaron un total de 442 óvulos, con una tasa de fertilización del 89,5 %. Este protocolo es aplicable a ejemplares de P. conchonius con una longitud y un peso promedio de ≤ 5 cm y ≤ 3 g, respectivamente.
